Swing Analysis: Charley Hoffman

By Wayne | Videos: Swing Analysis

If you’ve been following the website for a while you probably know that I really like Charley Hoffman’s swing, even though as you will see in these shots of his driver I took at the recent Valspar Championship in Tampa that his right arm does not really move the way I prefer. That said, there is a wonderful simplicity to his body movement that could be a model for anyone, and I certainly use his swing to show people who move around too much just how nice it looks to wind up and clear the hips and shoulders the way…

Must See Video! Right Arm Action Revisited

By Wayne | Videos: Swing Analysis

One of the most watched videos on this website is one I did a few years ago on the movement of the right arm during the swing. I probably get more questions about the right arm than on any subject, and I have given a lot of thought to the subject since I filmed the first one. Here I’m in my basement going over my latest thoughts on how the right arm should function during the swing from address to the approach to impact. By Wayne | Videos: Swing Analysis

One of the benefits of teaching a Tour player is that I am able to sneak videos of other Tour players with my Casio camera and tripod, and since it is me taking the vids, the angles are correct for a real Wayne D. analysis. Stewart, who famously beat Tom Watson to win the British Open in 2009, has seen his performance drop substantially since then, missing 10 of 20 cuts in and notching only 2 top 20’s in majors while not qualifying for a WGC event since 2011. When we look at the face on view of Stewart’s swing…

Swing Analysis: Russell Knox

By Wayne | Videos: Swing Analysis

It’s always a treat to get good tripod shots of a Tour player, and that’s just what we have here with Russell Knox. Russell, born in Scotland, has worked himself onto the PGA Tour through the mini-tours, the Nationwide Tour, and finally the big dance. He hasn’t won yet but was in a 4 man playoff last year at the Honda Classic.
