TP&C: Tom Kite Part 4

By Wayne | Tour Players and Celebrities

In this video we see Tom make the change from steepening his club in transition to shallowing it. If anyone was wondering if changing was only hard for the untalented the fact that this is video number 4 should dissuade you from that opinion. In fact, just after Tom sent in this swing (which is much improved over the first swing in the series) he arranged to meet me for an in person lesson at Liberty National in New York, a course he just happened to co-design. I will be doing a video on our time there in short order,…

Testimonials: Russ Aragon

By Wayne | Testimonials

WD I just love  that I finally have a place to come to and get what the best players in the world are doing from a clean perspective. I have always known if I could learn just what the best players are doing, that I would get better. You are the first and ONLY one who is presenting this knowledge to the everyday player for a reasonable fee. Keep it up, you are the very best that I have had the privilege to study. It’s just so much fun for me to learn.  Thank you,   Russ PGA Member

Playing for Money: Jason Gandy

By Wayne | Videos: Playing For Money

Jason is a young player just out of college who has aspirations to play golf for a living. As you will see here he has a wonderful, fluid, powerful looking action that appears to have all the potential to be successful. Jason, however, has been struggling with his ball striking, or at least the consistency of his ball striking. Many players with nice moves like Jason can hit great shots with all the quality of a Tour player, but not enough times in a round to shoot the kind of numbers necessary to make money. What we see here is…

Swing Analysis: Practice Round at the Barclays

By Wayne | Videos: Swing Analysis

This video is kind of long, but you will understand when you start watching and you see shots of Kevin Streelman, Boo Weekley, Luke Donald, Charl Schwartzel and Sergio Garcia shot on the course at 300 fps and a tripod. Kevin was going to play 9 by himself, and when we got to the tee Luke’s caddy was waiting there without Luke. We hit off, and when we were in the fairway Luke hit up as well. As Luke was walking down the fairway Sergio and Charl walked up to the tee and hit off as well. I had the…

Online Students: Connor Kumpula Part 2

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

As you will see in Connor’s second lesson he has made a huge change in his swing based on my recommendations, and has gone from not wanting to play to winning the Oregon State Stroke Play Amateur by 3 shots. Hearing that I may have played a role in keeping the young man from leaving the game makes me feel extra good. Here is the follow up letter from his dad, and then my answer.   Wayne, Just got your lesson. It is nice to see concepts turn into success. I am sure sometimes it goes sideways on you. I…

TP&C: Len Mattiace Part 7

By Wayne | Tour Players and Celebrities

Len has had an odd year, playing some decent golf but constantly missing cuts by one or two shots. I haven’t watched him play, but he reports that his putting has been off in some of the events and in others his proximity to the hole is not allowing him to shoot low enough scores. Here we keep working on the swing issues that I see in Lenny’s swing, particularly his tendency to drop his hands downward in transition and shoot his right leg out from under him. In our last session we focused on the fact that he jams…

Online Students: Tommy Lau

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

There are two major items in Tommy’s swing that, if improved, will provide an opportunity for massive, rapid improvement. They are major issues in any swing, and for Tommy to make them better he has to change the entire motion pattern of his swing. The two are tied together: in the backswing, from the face on view, we see Tommy slide his hips almost 3 inches to the right while keeping his head relatively still (except for upward movement, which is never good). He has put himself into a difficult position from which to properly initiate his downswing, and as…

Online Students: Scott Neely

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

“After watching those more closely, and getting the tip of the week(though that obviously wasn’t new), I decided to make a major change. My thinking is that my right arm tightens so much right before takeaway, that the whole swing becomes compromised right from the beginning. I’m now committed to addressing as “homeplate” and starting the takeaway without the tightening. HUGE difference”!   That was Scott’s comment after receiving his lesson. This is a fascinating lesson because it really highlights what a true, full video analysis is all about. This swing is not that easy to diagnose. Scott is a…
