TP&C: The Putting Stroke of Brad Faxon

By Wayne | Tour Players and Celebrities

About 4 years ago I had the pleasure of spending the day working with Brad Faxon on his golf swing at the Old Oaks Golf Club in Long Island, NY. Before we spent time on the range we went out to play the course which was to be the site of Brad’s attempt to qualify for the U.S. Open that year. Armed with my trusty camera and tripod I filmed Brad hitting different shots, and although we were not going to work on his putting (for obvious reasons) I had enough presence of mind to film his putting stroke front and back just to log it in for future reference. Brad has been regarded as one of the best putters in the entire history of the PGA Tour, and recent statistics back that perception up. That being the case Brad fits in perfectly with the overall game plan of this website, which is to analyze the best of the best to see what they are doing in hopes of learning more about possible ways to go about improving the viewer’s game. As always I try to observe and offer my take on what is going on. Of course, Brad is the only one who can describe the feel of what he is doing, but it is cool to see what is actually happening as he makes one of the most proficient strokes in golf.
