TP&C: Ben Silverman Part 6

By Wayne | Tour Players and Celebrities

Ben has been doing nicely on the Canadian Tour with a top 20 and a top 10 in his first two events, but he missed the cut last week and sent me a few of his swings. As you will see the swing is looking great going back, but still needs work in transition and in the release. I would like to see Ben keep the cup in his wrist a bit longer in transition and get his hands working more out toward the ball so that the right arm can move more in front of his chest and his hands can get further forward by the time the club is parallel to the ground in the approach. Ben has excellent rotation (his left knee disappears right as his left arm gets to parallel coming down, and I think it is just a matter of time and practice for him to match up his backswing with his forward swing. He knows the drill: Ben has a great understanding of what we are trying to do, but as you can see these things are stubborn. When players get to be good doing things a certain way it is not easy to change the patterns. Ben has reworked his swing to a great degree and has played better and better while doing so, and I have no doubt that he will continue to improve and work his way toward the bigger stages.
