The web.com Tour – 2014 Midwest Classic

By Wayne | blog

Hey everybody, more great news. You’ve seen Jeremy Wells progress from a college payer in the Lesson of the Week series to a Pro in the Playing for Money sections of the web site.
Jeremy came up to Lakewood for a 2 hour lesson on July 9th and just sent in this letter that I wanted to share with all of you. I’d also like to encourage all the website members to follow and support him.

“Friends and family,

AWESOME news — I just Monday qualified for this week’s WEB.COM Tour event in Overland Park, Kansas!! I posted 5-under par 67 to win against the qualifying field of 120 players. My round included 6 birdies and 1 bogey in 20 MPH winds on the very tight Alvamar Golf Club in Lawrence, KS. I got it to 4-under after 9 holes and knew I basically needed to hang on to earn a spot. The back 9 was a big mental battle but I managed to stay calm and focused enough to get the job done with a couple shots to spare.

It’s tough to explain how proud of myself I am. My game has been moving in the right direction for a few weeks and it’s nice to have something to show for it. I’m going to enjoy getting settled in during my practice over the next 2 days and I’ll be ready to keep it going on Thursday. If you want to follow, go to PGATOUR.COM and click on WEB.COM tour on the top right. I will write back with an update as the week goes on. It’s going to be a blast playing on such a big stage.

I’d like to give a big thanks to all of you, especially my sponsors, who have supported me and helped make this opportunity possible. More to come soon!

Best wishes,

Jeremy”
