Online Students: Gates Grainger

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

This video lesson is a perfect example of why it is imperative to have both the face-on and down-the-line views of a swing in order to do a complete and effective analysis of a swing. Not only can you see different things from each view many items are exclusive to that particular view. For example, you can’t tell how much lateral movement is present in the hips and the head from down the line, just like you can’t tell accurately how the club shaft is moving plane-wise from face-on.   In Gate’s swing we see that he needs to work…

Student Lesson: Jared Kenworthy

By Wayne | Videos: Lesson of the Week

Jared has been a member of the web site for a while now and has created a nice series of videos that he posted in the forum documenting all the hard work he’s done on his swing, check them out if you haven’t seen them yet. Jared used the information on this site, a few online lessons, a lot of motivation, some self-analysis and plain old hard work to build himself a very nice swing. In this video Jared actually made the trip out from Kansas for business and decided to drop by Woodmont for an in-person lesson, which was…

The big problem areas have been the same for years: his backswing gets vertical and lifted, while his downswing gets majorly steep and exits way out to the right. I had a feeling that the stuff I was working on and teaching in my day to day lessons and…

Lesson of the Week: Rick B

By Wayne | Videos: Lesson of the Week

Rick is a long-time friend and my business partner at waynedefrancesco.com and wdglc.com. He runs a software company that produces ease of access programs for major online gaming companies. He is also an avid golfer, and I have been helping him with his swing off and on since we met, although never for any extended period of time.
