TP&C: Nick Price

By Wayne | Tour Players and Celebrities

This was a real treat for me, as you can imagine. Nick is a Hall of Famer, former #1 in the world, but has struggled recently with his driver and his results on the Champions Tour have not been up to his standards. I was in Florida at Old Palm with Brad Faxon and Brad, a good friend of Nick’s, mentioned that Nick had been hitting his driver all over the place and had taken a video of Nick’s swing. Brad showed it to me, and as you will see in this video I could tell right away what the problem was. Brad was nice enough to give Nick a call and ask him if he wanted to come over to have me take a look, and to our surprise Nick agreed and was at the range a couple hours later. We talked about his swing and I showed him the old and new videos, and made a few suggestions on how we might go about getting him “unstuck”. Nick made sure right away that he was not good with too many thoughts or ideas, so rather than go through a detailed analysis I had to choose a couple things that I thought were fairly simple and that he could implement right away. What I would really like to do is work with Nick more and get his hips more “in the box” as I think that would go a long way to curing the rest of the issue, but we will see if I get that chance. In any event, it is a privilege to work with players with histories like Nick, Brad, and Tom Kite, and it is also nice to be able to share the work with the website members.
