I’m always encouraging my students to tee it up in competition I also like them to report how they are doing. Recently Christan Mauer qualified for, and played in, his State Am (Indiana) and he’s also been posting updates in the forum. Today I got word from Matthew Laydon that he qualified for his State Am (South Carolina). Click their names to see some of their lessons.

Great job to both, keep it up.

Congrats to all. If you look all the way toward the bottom of that SC Am qual leaderboard you will see my name and a WD….ugh. My Dad got really sick and I had to withdraw so I could look after him. Obviously family is always the priority, but I will miss joining Matt at the the SC State Am at DeBordieu!

Hey guys, This site is my support group…funny. I am doing my best to get better. I watch Hogan videos often and have lately focused on how efficient his action is. I am finally getting my pivot tighter and when I do that I feel like my swing gets really simple. The mental challenge I face is believing that the simpler, tighter pivot will produce enough length to keep me competitive. My most recent practice sessions focused on the tighter/faster pivot come with more risk in my mind because the offline shots are also shorter. I need to get over it but it ain’t easy.
