Scott had his first online lesson about 2 months ago and in this lesson, we go over pretty much the same items, although he has taken my suggestion regarding his posture and made a big change, actually over-doing it a bit. Scott’s biggest issue is his pelvic movement in transition when his knees both flex and drive forward toward the ball, forcing his hands well out away from his body on the approach to impact. In his first lesson, I noted that he was somewhat slumped over with his weight more toward his heels, and here you can see clearly that he has changed that completely. We can now move somewhat toward a middle ground posture-wise, as here he has added too much spine tilt and his back is overly straight. The fix will be to relax the lower back (you should never contract the back muscles inward toward the spinal column) and stand up just a bit while keeping the pressure more toward the balls of the feet than the heels. As in the first lesson I want Scott to use the shaft between the feet to give him feedback on his knee and pelvic movement (next time I would encourage him to include video of his swing using the aid), as well as putting another obstacle (a shaft with a headcover on the end of it) close to his hands at address so that he can see the space through which his hands should pass into and past impact. This has the makings of a very good swing and I am confident that Scott can start compressing the ball soon.
