Jonathan is an Air Force jet pilot who loves golf and is just starting to have some time to devote to getting better. You will see that he is a hard worker as he has made tremendous improvement over the two months since his first online lesson, especially where it is most important, at impact. He has also reduced the excess movement prior to and during the takeaway, but this has come at the expense of an on plane movement of the hands and the club as the swing gets started. This is not a usual occurrence as swing characteristics tend not to change very much unless there is a specific desire to do so, but here we see a huge change as the hands and arms move well away from the body, causing the progression lines to get way out of whack. The end result is dropping hands in transition and the under and out to the right move of the lower body that causes the high approach and in to out path. This shouldn’t be the hardest thing to fix, and with some good mirror work and the idea of having the hands move toward the body and the arms inward while the club stays outside the hands and opens up we should see some continued improvement in his next batch of swings.
