Online Lesson: David Trungale: Working on Posture and Clubface Control to Hit a Consistent Fade

Wayne, how have you been?  Mark Wilson’s coach, Dave Rasmussen, sadly passed away recently here in Wisconsin.  You both have been super helpful with my swing progress.  At any rate, is my club lean looking better from face-on ‘reducing it’ to get more loft?  Your lesson from 2021 provided some great insight on this. From DTL, I’ve tried to allow my right elbow to fold up a bit more.  Let me know what needs improvement + anything that looks ok.  Your general analysis and lines are always first-rate.  Kind Regards, David

David’s swing is looking great. His main complaint concerns shots that go left when he is trying to fade it. There is certainly nothing going on in the swing path that wouldn’t start the ball slightly left of target, so I suggest that perhaps the face rotation, as seen in the follow through, could be held off just slightly, as there appears to be some extra rotation, indicating that the forearms may be crossing too aggressively to have the ball consistently fall to the right. I also recommend a slightly more open stance and a clubface alignment at address that is open to the body lines but closed to the target line, which I would call a Trackman fade. I also think David’s posture could be a bit more angular, with a sharper pelvic tilt and straighter spine (although nothing that feels rigid or tightens the back muscles).
