I’m pretty excited about this swing. I am finally able to put some time in trying to do the things that I know I want to do in the swing, and as you will see here I am getting there. I never really like my swing, but I may have to change my mind after seeing this. There is a lot more work to be done, but I am definitely on the right track.

It’s always nice to get swings from the television broadcasts that employ fixed cameras. As we know, any hand held camera precludes the use of drawing lines to see where the movement occurs in the swing because It is impossible to hold a camera perfectly still while filming. Usually at a Tour event the fixed cameras are on tee boxes for obvious reasons, and in this case we have both Scott and Mcilroy teeing it up on a par 3.

As we know, swings that are rhythmical and paced well almost always look good to the naked eye. Matthew’s swing is no exception, and certainly that ability to make a graceful, powerful athletic motion is always going to be a positive when it comes to being able to implement technique change, which is what we know we are going to need after analyzing the details of the swing in slow motion.

Kevin is an excellent player (two years on Tour, 6 wins on the secondary [Nationwide, Web.com] tours) but at age 48 he has kind of hit the wall and can’t seem to hit the ball as well as he used to. The first thing I noticed was that Kevin was not really using his pivot nearly enough, and we spent the first session just trying to feel what a real coil and load felt like.

The first thing you notice about Rick’s swing is the similarities in body type, set-up, and swing rhythm to Ben Hogan. Upon further inspection, however, we find a big difference in the pivot motion, one which, because of its importance to the swing, is enough of a problem to keep Rick from hitting the ball at the level he desires.

This video is a good example of how I brainstorm these things and try to come up with root causes of the chronic issues and ways to beat the problem. The good news here is that after trying this suggestion John reported in that his hand path changed for the better almost immediately, the results of which we will post when we do his next lesson.

John is a good player and has every tool imaginable available to him in his house, and has been working with me for about 8 months, so you can see just how difficult this type of pattern is to change.

This is a great example of a successful series of online lessons. Byron’s swing has progressed remarkably, and it is easy to see from the side by side views of the new and the old that he has been able to incorporate just about everything I have suggested. Certainly it should be encouraging for everyone who has taken an online lesson or is contemplating doing so that great improvement can be made even without face to face, hands on training.

Lots of buzz in the media leading up to this years Masters on Bryson DeChambeau the 2015 NCAA Division 1 Champion and U.S. Amateur Champion. this swing analysis includes exclusive video footage from Mark Long, thank you Mark. Bryson has definitely taken over the title of “most interesting man in golf” from Miguel Angel Jiminez as you will see by his very cool swing and the fact that all his irons are the same length. Certainly he has dominated the amateur ranks this summer.

This is an interesting golf swing and when it works Snedeker is a threat to win every time as he is one of the best putter/short game artists on the Tour. His takeaway is right up the plane but the shaft quickly gets quite flat at left arm parallel due to the rolling motion of his left arm and shoulder. This is problematical for the average player as the tendency then would be to pull the right arm up and back…
