Day 2 at Emerald Dunes: Wayne D’s Swing (with video)

It is always a test to play in a heavy wind. Today it was blowing 15-25 mph, and that means that no shot can be taken for granted. Every shot has to be struck well in order to end up well, from the drive with water left and a hard left to right crosswind, to 130 yard shot into the wind that would usually be a nice pitching wedge but now turns into a knockdown 8 iron, if not a punch 7. The Emerald Dunes Invitational

It’s the first time in quite a while that I have felt good about a tournament. Let’s See How Gary Woodland Does With Butch

I was reading GolfWeek and I ran across a blurb about Gary Woodland, who is now working with Butch Harmon. Woodland stated that he is struggling with the things they are working on, especially the idea of “swinging down the line” as opposed to swinging left, which Woodland states that he has “always done”. I find that highly interesting in a couple of ways: first, I was under the impression that Butch really doesn’t try to change much in the players he works with. Why I Keep Playing

So I’ve just made triple on my 16th hole, another tough par-3 at Isleworth CC (yes, home of the fire hydrant), and I’m wondering to myself, why do I subject myself to this? Isleworth is an incredibly demanding course: the shot values are high all over the course, almost without letup. When the wind blows the difficulty increases. When it’s chilly as well, well, you can imagine. Heading to the Isleworth Invitational

Friday is the day I attend the PGA show. Saturday morning I’m going down to play Jupiter Hills with one of the club site members, Jimmy Farina. Good Stuff Coming

I wanted everyone to know that I just got back from 4 days at the fabulous Colusa Pines Golf Club in Fort Myers, Florida where I worked with my old friend and Champions Tour exempt player Gary Hallberg.
