Improvement: Peter Procops, PGA Part 6

By Wayne | Improvement

This video covers two short lessons. Peter’s swings are looking good in both. In the first video Peter’s hands are working much better out at the ball in transition but I’m seeing that pattern often seen on this site of the hips moving out towards the ball, causing the head to back up and losing angle in a players posture. I want to see Peter do the opposite and increase his angle in the downswing.

Improvement: Peter Procops, PGA Part 5

This lesson is actually a compilation of three short lessons. The first part Peter has freed up his leg movement in the backswing which I like but his head is a bit left of center and the forward hip drive is a bit too forward and not enough around. The next section the face-on view is looking really nice.

Improvement: Peter Procops, PGA Part 4

By Wayne | Improvement

This is a series of lessons that begins in July 2013 to present and will continue as long as new lessons occur. Peter is a fellow PGA professional who played the South American tour (Tour De Las Americas) for 5 years and Golden Bear Tour (Mini Tour) 5 years 1997-2001. I asked Peter, and he was gracious enough, to comment on his lessons and give everyone some insight on what he went through to get to where he is now. The hope is that anyone watching and reading can be encouraged to keep working as they witness what can be accomplished.

Improvement: Peter Procops, PGA Part 3

Peter is doing a nice job of right loading, keeping in the box, and has a good transition sequence. The first things I see are his hands not releasing early enough with the driver causing a slight downward strike on the ball. His rehearsal swing is looking great but the full swing is getting a bit crossed at the top, this being caused by the right arm getting behind him at the top of the backswing. The most important issue to address here is; the high approach in-to-out path with a late release as that combination spells trouble.

Improvement: Peter Procops, PGA Part 2

Our next lesson continues on 9/16/2013, 57 days later (about 2 months). Peter’s sequencing was looking good after our first lesson. In this video the first thing I see is a tight right arm stuck to the side making for very little width and causing the right arm to look for depth ending up well behind him and across the line at the top of the backswing.

This is a series of lessons that begins in July 2013 to present and will continue as long as new lessons occur. I’m going to publish these once a week or so, some will be a couple of short lessons combined into one video. I asked Peter, and he was gracious enough, to comment on his lessons and give everyone some insight on what he went through to get to where he is now. The hope is that anyone watching and reading can be encouraged to keep working as they witness what can be accomplished.
