Online Students: Kory Koehn

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

This video is a great example of how posture and stance affect the entire swing. In watching Kory’s swing at regular speed, I saw some nice motion with good rhythm, but I also noticed a general lack of structure from face on and not much hip depth from down the line. After a closer look, I saw that Kory’s posture was quite erect, and that his right foot was extremely flared out.

Online Students: John Lamendola Part 8

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

If you want to see how you can improve your swing via online lessons just watch my lessons with John Lamendola. He sends his swings, I make suggestions, and then he works on it for a while and sends another swing. If you think about it, say you had a great teaching pro at your club and you had the opportunity to conveniently take a lesson with him or her every week at a reasonable price: would you take advantage of it?

Online Students: Chip Zabatta

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

Chip is lucky enough to be a member at Winged Foot, which is where he met another long -time website member and online lesson taker John Lamendola. John has done an amazing job rearranging his swing, and suggested to Chip that he send me a swing. In the video, you will see that Chip exhibits some common swing patterns that compromise his ability to square his club face consistently and compress his irons.

Online Students: Matthew Latham Part 3

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

Wayne, “It feels pretty good overall. The start of this year my play has been good and I managed to get to +4 which is cool, but largely thanks to good driving. My iron play is sporadic; with some misses that are too large and I definitely still need to improve the knock downs we worked on last year. – In this video lesson, you will see that Matthew (who incidentally has an excellent swing) is spot on about his concerns with his lower body movement and how that contributes to his right arm issues in the downswing.

Online Students: Austin Kendziorski Part 2

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

I’ve been working with Austin for about a year and a half now and he has brought his stroke average playing for Marquette University down by almost 6 shots. He is a strong kid (121 mph clubhead speed and 180 ball speed) and is learning to control the ball better by improving his swing technique. His main struggle has been with the clubhead getting trapped behind his hands as he approaches impact, and in this lesson, you can see this issue clearly in his first batch of swings.

Online Students: John Kent

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

John is the father of one of website member Mark Smith’s good friends, and Mark was nice enough to purchase an online lesson for him. John plays to an 11 handicap now at age 70, but was a 7 a few years back before undergoing serious back surgery. Some of what we see here is certainly the result of the balky back, but there are things we can do to improve the movement and give John a chance to get back some of the strokes he has lost.

Online Students: Chris Wainwright, PGA UK

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

Being quite familiar with major back problems I see some similarities in the problems Chris is experiencing with his swing and what I constantly fight in my own swing, which is initiating the forward swing with proper sequence. The change of direction from clockwise to counter-clockwise must be initiated by the muscles of the right hip, and as the rotation works against the stabilized right leg the pelvis advances to the left as it unwinds.
