Zach has been working with me for a few years and I think you’ll agree that he has an enviable swing that should be producing results soon. His specific question about these swings is whether his right leg is getting too deep, and I show him side by side with Hogan to dissuade him from that worry. Hogan actually got even more depth in his right lower side in the backswing, but importantly did it while keeping his head from backing up at all, even appearing to lean forward into backswing while the pelvis rotates and pushes back. Zach tends to pull away a bit in the backswing, then add flex to the knees while continuing to pull away with his upper body, giving him the appearance of sitting under himself by the time he gets to P6. I would like Zach to try to get his forehead to move more forward in the backswing, keeping his upper body bent out over the ball while his pelvis continues to deepen the same amount. In the downswing I want Zach to feel like he pulls his upper legs back instead of flexing them underneath him and continue to try to keep his forehead up against its original position.
