Long bunker shots have been called the hardest shot in golf. Certainly it is not easy to get these shots close, but you do not have to fear disaster every time you face one if you follow the technique in this video. An important factor is to remember that it is OK to change clubs to hit bunker shots further. I’ll switch from my 58 degree wedge to my 52 when the shot requires more than a 25 yard carry (say 25-35), then to a pitching wedge to go over 35 to 45, then to a 9 iron for shots of 45-55 yards. After that I will start hitting the ball before the sand with my 58.
