Enough already with the “Phil’s swing has changed” crap. It hasn’t changed at all, and Mickelson remains the most incredibly talented, completely undisciplined golfer on the planet. He can’t keep himself from trying to hit it 350 yards off the tee, so his swing will never stay short of parallel in the backswing. And he’s been backing up during the backswing and the downswing from day one. Rick Smith, Butch Harmon, it’s all the same. Someone for Phil to hang out with and talk to while he practices. He’s exactly like Fred Couples in that his swing hasn’t changed since he was a kid, but he is infinitely more annoying than Freddy because he thinks it has and he’ll tell you all about it.
