Wayne,
Thanks in advance for looking at these 4 new swing videos. In these I have tried to implement the suggestions you gave me last time. I am making a concerted effort to get my weight more forward, feet further back with less squat and bend over more in my setup. I also tried to overdo the move off the ball to get the feeling of a slight move off the ball on the takeaway. I also am working on bringing my club up in a way that does not cross the line in the back swing. With my setup in these videos it feels as though I could fall forward because of the way I have been used to doing it for so long now. I also tried to have a less flat shoulder turn but it looks like to me I am still a bit flat.
Thanks again! Kory
This is Kory’s 3rd online lesson and he is showing great promise. I always like it when someone overdoes a change as opposed to not changing at all, as correcting age- old habits is much more difficult than moderating a new move that has been exaggerated. Kory has done a nice job with his set up, centering himself with his pressure more 50/50 than way left as it was before, and he has also, as he mentions above, gotten his front to back balance more out over the balls of his feet, which of course I am all in favor of. What he has overdone is his movement to load right in the backswing, but he can fix this quickly by making sure he braces his right leg and foot to the inside and keeps his hips “in the box” (from face on) instead of sliding them well to the right. As he works to load his right hip without sliding he can also start to incorporate more width into the end of his backswing by utilizing “extensor action”, where the right palm pushes into the left thumb as the wrists cock.
