If you thought you had obstacles to your quest for a better swing due to time constraints or weather you can’t help but be inspired by Joakim Strom, seen here working on his swing in a veritable closet, using a mirror in order to get a front view with his camera and having to cut his forward swing off at just past waist high. When I see this I see a great example of dedication and desire, and the progress Joakim has made with his swing is a testament to those qualities. The side by side with his swing of a year and a half ago shows great overall improvement in the major items that plagued his earlier swing, and here we go over some things to keep the improvement continuing, mostly having to do with the timing of his transition. I suggest that his lower body movement should start a hair sooner, so as to “catch” the backswing earlier and allow the right arm to move more in front of the body as opposed to having the grip move more downward and the right arm still get a bit trapped behind the upper right side. A nice drill for this would be the stop and go from left arm parallel, as this would allow him to focus on moving forward almost as soon as he started back to finish the backswing after the stop.
