There’s not much to write here as Connor has one of the best swings I’ve seen anywhere. I can’t wait for him to gather up more experience and start winning tournaments, and I see a bright future for him. He was to the point of quitting the game in April of 2014 when his father contacted me for some swing advice, and since then Connor has won the Oregon Amateur and qualified for the U.S. Amateur while playing some nice golf for Oregon State U. It is not always easy to let go of the memories of playing poorly, and when the technique improves as much as this the player has to learn to trust it let it work for him. Confidence, however, is built over time with increasing successes, just as a lack of confidence becomes ingrained over a period of poor performance. Decisive decision making and a good pre-shot routine become as important as anything else we can do with the swing, and I’m sure Connor will realize how good he is and start to really make a name for him.
