If you’ve watched Byron’s swing progress from the first online lesson he took I think you will be impressed with the progress he has made. From setting up leaning drastically to the left and then staying on the left side in the backswing he has centered himself nicely and is even right loading a bit. For a tall lanky guy Byron has a quick and compact looking swing, part of which is due to his tendency to keep his right arm close to his side in the backswing. I would really like him to get wider in the backswing by giving his right arm some space and height as it reaches left arm parallel, but to do this he will have to incorporate more early trunk turn than he has in these swings. He could really add some power to his swing by increasing his arc and winding up his trunk muscles more, and although this would be a big change in feel I think it would be worth the effort. If I were with Byron face to face I would be cranking his upper torso up in the backswing and adding height to his left arm and hands, not because I believe that all tall guys should swing upright (a myth) but because in his particular case I think that with the other nice things he does in his motion he would greatly benefit from the utilizing upper body muscles more effectively.
