If you have been following the site you probably know Andrew Terry, professional from Manchester, England. Andrew posted his swing on the site before he sent it to me, so I’m sure many of you have had a look at it and formed your own opinions on what Andrew might be doing or need to do, so I’m sure you will find it interesting to see what I’ve got to say. One thing is for sure, Andrew has a load of talent and a great desire to work at his game, two of the most important factors in determining who will be successful and who won’t. My job is to try to provide technique help that will improve Andrew’s ball striking, and that is what I am doing in the video.
When it comes to pivot compression Andrew is a champ, although I would like to see him divide his lowering between the backswing and the forward swing, and not save it all up for transition. It is my thought that the excessive downswing lowering is causing (or at least helping to cause) him to drop his hands almost backwards and at least vertically, and I would like to see him get those hands moving more out toward the ball starting down, which in turn would get his right arm more in front of him and aid him in a higher level delivery of the club through impact. Andrew is active on the site so I encourage you to follow his progress.
