Online Student: Brandon Nagler

This is Brandon’s second online lesson and the improvement in his swing is quite apparent. I figure that spending a few moments to document the improvement is worthwhile and makes the student feel better about the work he or she is putting in, but the majority of the time spent is always on moving forward and continuing to improve. I have had well-intentioned people tell me that I should take notes regarding all my lessons, but the truth is that the lesson starts with the swing that shows up, and that it’s not really that important what I remember about the last lesson, but rather what the student remembers. In this case it is obvious that Brandon has been working hard on the suggestions I made previously, as his swing is much more controlled and he has achieved a much higher level impact on his iron shots.

As for what Brandon still needs to work on, I suggest here that he concentrate on deepening the hips on the way back and keeping them deeper moving through impact so that his arms can come in closer to his body and his weight can stay off the front of his feet. I would like to see the heels not reverse around (rotate backwards) as he moves into the follow-through, and eventually work to a finish where his belt buckle is ahead of his nose.
