You need to go back to Sim’s first lesson to appreciate how much he has improved in a short period of time. In this lesson we dig down into the same issues to continue his progress. Sim’s grip is on the weak side, and if he leaves it in a neutral position too late in the downswing his approach requires some seriously quick face rotation. He has two choices: strengthen the grip, or learn to add left forearm supination and left wrist flexion earlier in the downswing. Since grip changes are more disruptive than mechanical movements I would go with the forearm and wrist change, but he might want to strengthen the grip as well. Two other major items to concentrate on are the right arm still pulling back at the very end of the backswing, and the right leg still driving too far toward the ball, taking away space for the right arm in the approach and making it hard to clear the hips and maintain forward bend from the waist in the downswing. He needs to do a lot of mirror work to feel the backswing turn without the right shoulder adding by retracting the scapula (he needs to see the upper right arm pushed out from face on), and I suggest the stick between the legs drill to gain feedback on where the right leg is going in the downswing.
