Online Lesson: Justin Baker- Improved Posture Down the Line, Now Addressing Face On

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

In this video you will see Justin change his posture quite a bit from more erect and heel oriented to one more out over the ball and what I would describe as more “athletic”, with pressure more forward toward the balls of the feet and more bent over from the waist. I like to call this a more “ready” position at address, much like a tennis player waiting for a serve, or a shortstop waiting for the batter to swing, or maybe a runner in a distance race with hundreds of competitors lined up waiting for the gun to go off. This gives his arms more freedom to swing and his pivot a better chance to load and clear. From there I go to his address position at address from face on, where I put him side by side with my former student Kevin Streelman, who is obviously set up less tilted to the right than Justin. I would like Justin to center his weight and feel more on top of the ball so that he can load more to the right without getting too far behind the ball, and then try to keep his head from moving forward at the same time as his hips so that he can feel the pulling sensation in his upper left side in the first half of the downswing.
