Hey Wayne, hope all is well. I’m looking for advice mainly for the driver, but I’ll gladly take any feedback you have for the iron swing as well. I’m striking the ball fairly solid almost always, but it seems like I have little to no control over the clubface at times. I’m probably losing 2-3 golf balls off the tee ON AVERAGE at my home course and it makes it difficult to score. I’ve tried getting less right bend/swinging easier with the driver. It looks prettier, but I still spray it all over. Maybe I was approaching it the wrong way. Please let me know what you think, thanks in advance.
Chris has a powerful looking swing, but when the misses are too big and get you in trouble (losing balls is big trouble) we want to find changes that don’t require swinging “easier”. I would like to see Chris alter his posture from one with a lot of knee flex and the pressure mid-back in his feet to one that looks more like the side by side with Adam Scott, more on the balls of the feet with less knee flex and more out over the ball with the pelvis also more tilted. Just before the top of the swing Chris lowers down into his left leg with his knee flexing forward, making the knees look overly uneven as he tries to change direction. With a lot of pressure forward into the left foot Chris adds flex to both upper legs between P4 and P5.5, causing him to lose a bit of posture. With his ability to lag the club he produces a late release while bending his upper body back to hit up on the ball, the combination of which I think produces the problems he has with the clubface. If he can change the posture and keep the left hip higher in the backswing, I believe he can stay out over the ball and rotate better into impact.
