Once again, the lesson of the week showcases an ongoing, chronic, troublesome, annoying problem that is keeping the student from bumping up her ball striking a level or two. In this case it is the early release, which is the number on reason people do not strike the ball solidly and take a divot after impact. Just knowing how she is supposed to hit the ball has helped Bev immensely, as her pivot movement has improved considerably. Unfortunately, she has not been able to rectify the right arm problem that precludes her from getting her hands forward enough at impact to adequately compress the ball. In this video you will see me do something I have just recently come up with, namely physically pushing the right arm at the elbow inward in the middle of her swing, causing, well, you’ll see what it causes. Trust me, it’s all good, and combined with proper pivot movement and clubface control I think she can make a major jump in quality of contact.
