Kratzert Strikes Again: Seeing Things that Aren’t There

How hard is it to make sure that what you say about a golf swing is actually true? Well, pretty darn hard if you’re Billy Kratzert, who seems bent on saying whatever he wants to say no matter what is happening on the screen that he describing. My guess is that you will shake your head in wonder at this one, as his analysis is so blatantly wrong that it is hard to imagine that this made its way onto the internet on one of the most widely viewed golf websites in existence. It’s almost embarrassing that I can simply draw a couple of lines to show that Kratzert has once again totally missed the boat on Tiger’s swing and more specifically his head movement. As I have stated a million times (and all the video proves) Tiger’s head moves downward and to the right in the backswing, and downward again in transition. It stays stable from left arm parallel in the downswing to shaft parallel, at which point he raises into and past impact with a mighty squeeze of the glutes and upper legs. Kratzert’s obsession with Tiger’s “steady” head, one that he claims does not move off the ball or up and down, is comical given that it is so easy to draw a couple of lines and see that his ideas are ridiculous.
