Improvement: Peter Procops, PGA Part 14

By Wayne | Improvement

Peter is a fellow PGA professional who played the South American tour (Tour De Las Americas) for 5 years and Golden Bear Tour (Mini Tour) 5 years 1997-2001. We’ve been following Peter as his swing progresses over a number of lessons and we continue with a composite of four short lessons. Peter is a talented player with a good swing and we’ve been working on the details to make it even better. The first lesson I suggest to open the stance to assist in getting more timely rotation. There’s not enough rotation in this swing to pull the club around resulting in an approach that is from too far inside. Peter’s left knee is collapsing in too much as well which also makes rotating open more difficult. In the second lesson we see some old habits creeping back in namely the flattening that stays flat. No one said this would be easy. From the face-on view Peter’s left leg is still moving too far in. The third lesson we’re focusing on the lower body and how it rotates because there is too much lateral and not enough rotation going on. In the last lesson we’re seeing some improvement in reducing the lateral move but the right arm is a little behind and the legs are coming out from under a bit.
