Erik Van Rooyen Swing Analysis (PGA European Tour)

This guy looks to me like a sure bet to be a top 10 player in the world. He’s big, perfectly built, flexible as heck, and has developed not only a great swing but it solid in all other facets of the game, with his best stat being his putting. Here I focus on his swing, which demonstrates just about everything I like to teach. I like his on plane takeaway (slightly away from the body) with the clubface neutral, his athletic right loading (especially with the driver), his great width and extension against a very quiet lower body (more efficient if you have the trunk mobility to do it) to what is obviously short and well contained swing length, his outward hand path with the shaft flattening, his ability to control the shaft and keep it above the right forearm from P5 to P6, his rate of lower body rotation (left knee disappears by P5), his right arm adduction and shoulder external rotation, right forearm supination, and left forearm supination and left wrist flexion into impact. I probably missed a few things but what’s not to like?
