Chamblee Labels Tiger “One-Dimensional” and says he “Lacks Versatility” (with video)

You might think from the title of this video that I have created fictional commentary from our man Brandel Chamblee to make him look ridiculous. As you will see, this is not the case, as Brandel does a fine job without my having to make up anything. Face it, there is no one on the planet with enough balls to say Tiger Woods “lacks versatility”, and that is not because no one other than Chamblee is courageous enough to speak the truth, it’s because the statement is so outrageously asinine that no one else would ever even think to say it, especially in front of a national television audience. Instead of commenting on Tiger’s preference to work the ball against the wind he focuses on the fact that Tiger is hitting a left to right shot to a left pin, without having the slightest idea of where Tiger is actually trying to hit the ball. Tiger played notoriously conservatively at the Open Championship, so one could almost assume that he was not going flag hunting on the 6th hole at Royal Lytham. The same could be said of his shot at the 9th at Kiawah. Chamblee is so intent on taking Tiger to task for something (anything) that he completely misses an opportunity to provide the viewers with something interesting and educational regarding certain players’ preferences for playing shots either with the wind or working the ball against it. But no, Chamblee would rather continue to show his negative, mean-spirited side and hammer Tiger with stupid pronouncements such as you see here. I simply cannot believe that the producers of the Golf Channel do not take note of Chamblee’s constant attacks on the one guy that garners them ratings. I have to think that at some point they will either put a muzzle on the guy or just get rid of him. That couldn’t be soon enough for me.
