I should put a warning label on this video that says “Caution: Quite Physically Difficult to Accomplish”, although if you can get a bit closer to what Koepka does your swing will definitely improve. Staying bent over during the golf swing (not to mention getting even more bent over like Brooks does here) is possibly the most physically demanding movement in the golf swing. Koepka is loading pressure into his right leg while adding right hip flexion and maintaining his right knee flex, all the while keeping his head perfectly up against the forehead line. This is pivot movement at its best, and Koepka’s results in the biggest events are evidence that he has a swing worthy of emulating. He maintains his depth and stays out over the ball in transition, into the forward swing and through impact, which is, like I said, incredibly demanding physically. I am always interested in how players function regarding the “hip box” that I draw from the down the line view, and Koepka is as good as anyone in this regard, including my favorite, Ben Hogan.
