Brett had some nice finishes in the PGA Winter Series tournaments last year after seeing me a few times but didn’t play much this summer due to his job, so he wanted to get a look/see as soon as he got back to Florida and entered some events. Brett has the quintessential tour player body (tall, lean and strong) and my goal for him is to simplify his swing by working on 3 things: keeping the club above the plane in the takeaway by using the right forearm takeaway option (he was already mostly there in this regard), keeping the right upper arm more in front of him so it wouldn’t overturn in transition, and keeping his head from moving in front of its starting position in the downswing so that he is forced to use the ground more effectively and achieve more lateral pelvic movement which in turn will help him stay behind the ball better. In the video we go through the initial swings, then a few stop and goes after discussing what we want to work on, then a couple of full swings that show some significant improvement.
