Brian Muench Online Lesson and Follow-Up: -Addressing Right Arm Issues

By Wayne | Videos: Online Students

I met Brian when I worked at Woodmont CC and he was an assistant pro. He has since gotten his amateur status back and had an exciting win in 2018 when he prevailed in the Oak Hill (Rochester, NY) club championship. He is getting close to playing some quality golf and would like to compete on a State Am/ State Open level. He has always had wrestled with the problem you will see here, where the right arm bends and pulls back in transition, leaving it unable to straighten as it heads from P4 to P6, bringing the hands toward…

Playing for Money: Austin Kendziorski-Back at It

By Wayne | Videos: Playing For Money

Austin has taken an extended break after turning pro last year, first due to poor play and then the Coronavirus, but now is back at it and trying to improve. Austin is incredibly strong (I watched him hit 4 drives that flew 330 when I played 9 holes with him), but that amount of power can get you into trouble when you don’t have control of it. I have always wanted Austin to make his swing more compact, taking advantage of his strength knowing that even if he gears it down he will be plenty long and always have the…

The First Tee Sunday at the Ryder Cup: How the Best Use Routine to Combat Nerves

By Wayne | Videos: Swing Analysis

The Ryder Cup is one of the only events where we see some of the best players in the world get introduced and go through their full routine on the first tee. Here I look at how the following players take their turns teeing off in what is probably one of the most pressure packed shots in all of golf: Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Paul Casey, Webb Simpson, Justin Rose, Tiger Woods, Jon Rahm, Tony Finau, Tommy Fleetwood, Phil Mickelson, and Francesco Molinari. I focus on their every movement after they tee up the ball, including practice swings, target focus, number of steps and amount of time to get to the ball and set up, and then time over the ball before they pull the trigger. I think every golfer gets the first tee jitters and watching what these great players do to prepare for their opening tee shots is quite instructive.

Swing Analysis: Tommy Fleetwood

By Wayne | Videos: Swing Analysis

I didn’t realize until I looked at the stats, but Fleetwood may be the best ball striker currently on the planet. The winner of this year’s Race to Dubai drives it an average of just under 300 yards and hits 70 % of his fairways, which obviously puts him into position to hit a lot of greens, which he does, his 77% GIR 3 full points better than anyone on the European Tour. His backswing could be a model for anyone, and with his…

Swing Analysis: The “Hands-Out Move” Dominates the Tour

By Wayne | Videos: Swing Analysis

I like to go through the TV telecasts that I DVR, pick the interesting swings and load them onto my camera, then load them onto my computer and into my V1, then go through and attach names to them, and then (finally) watch all of them to figure out what kind of video I am going to do. Most of the time I will pick out one or two guys who are playing well and are on camera a bunch and do a swing analysis, or other times, like this one, I will find a general theme amongst the swings…
