When I told one of my students about the amazing progress Bruce made in his first lesson, he reminded me that it would be the first swing I saw the next time I worked with Bruce that would decide if the lesson were really that amazing. I thought about that and reflected on how difficult it is to retain what you get in a lesson when the teacher is not always there to correct you when you begin to either revert to old bad habits or evolve into some new form of problem. Lesson of the Week: Bruce Gross

We started off with a pitching wedge, hitting to a flag that was 95 yards out. Bruce couldn’t get within 30 yards of it, and when you see the first batch of swings it should be apparent why. I don’t know if he even realized what an amazing transformation he had just made, but I have to say I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything quite as startling as the difference in the first and last swings.
