January Tournament Results for Wayne D Students

By Wayne | blog

Congrats to Darrell Kestner and my former student Dick Mast for their 1-2 finish in the 65-69 year old group at the PGA Senior Stroke Play Championship in Port St. Lucie Jan 12-14. Also a nice return to action to WayneD student and Korn Ferry Tour player Willy Wilcox, who regained fully exempt status for the 2020 season by finishing 16th in his first tournament back (The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay Sunday Jan 12 – Wednesday Jan 15, 2020) after 8 months off with a medical exemption.

Wayne D. 2019 U.S. Senior Open Qualifier: Almost

By Wayne | blog

It was 80 players for 3 spots, and I finished tied for 4th. I shot 68, but there were two 66’s and a 67. The 67 was in my group (by Mark Brown, the head professional at the club on Long Island where I started my teaching career) as was another 68, by Bob Lennon, director of instruction at Wilmington CC in Delaware. Wayne’s World Weekly Blog: Tiger Woods: Still a Chance?

By Wayne | blog

Just about everyone who is interested in golf wants to know if Tiger can come back. I happen to think he can, and I have a unique perspective as to what he is going through. I had been a first team All-American at LSU in 1979 (good team that year: Corey Pavin, Fred Couples, Bob Tway, John Cook, Bobby Clampett, Gary Hallberg, Scott Watkins and myself- Mark O’Meara, Payne Stewart, Joey Sindelar and Mark Wiebe were on the 2nd team), and had turned professional a year later.
